Claudio Ranieri sacked by Leicester City, sacked 9 months after winning the Premier League title

Beloved Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has been sacked by Leicester City, 9 months after leading Leicester City to the Premier League Title, in a season that defied all odds.

The foxes have had a rough season 2016-2017 season though, with the club with just one point above the relegation zone with just 13 matches left.

“The board reluctantly feels that a change of leadership, while admittedly painful, is necessary in the club’s greatest interest,” read Leicester’s statement.

“His status as the most successful Leicester City manager of all time is without question,” added the Foxes statement.

“However, domestic results in the current campaign have placed the club’s Premier League status under threat.”

Football players lamented Ranier’s sacking, with reactions from former and current players chiming in to express their thoughts and emotions through social media.
